The Gift....

The Gift

What Easter Is
Sweet chocolate rabbits
Pretty spring flowers
Baskets full of candy.
A promise of the future
A gift to receive
A beautiful, perfect plan.
Winter now is over
Easter at last is here
Life has been renewed.

WIshing you all a Happy Easter!

Fluffing up the Spring wreath

I actually did a little Spring cleaning in the yard the other day and spruced up the house for Spring. I even mowed the lawn...imagine that with the pollen count in extreme record highs!  The mowing is usually my son's job but I thought I would give him a break. Anyways... I put up my Spring wreath and added a few vintage Easter picks in it.  Here it is on my front door. It feels like Spring has sprung in Atlanta. Wishing you all a happy day!

A sweet woven basket with vintage pom pom chicks, hand painted wooden eggs, plastic bunnies and chickens,a large bouquet of millinery flowers all in one! It is for sale in my new shop. Yep...I started a new shop. I have a passion for vintage stuff so I thought I would give it a try and hopefully people will like my taste. I like the hunt for fun and unique finds! Spring/Easter Table Setting Tour

Welcome to my little tour! This past week I've been showing different tablescapes to give you ideas an inspirations for a table setting. This is the one I've created so I hope you enjoy!
I set the table on my back porch. I have a rustic, shabby ,white table that I love! I did cover it with a sheer, yellow tablecloth with green polka dots on it. My husband who is in the food and beverage business added the crumber on the table!Lol! He's worked in fine dining all his life. My style is not as stuffy!{I'm not saying his style is stuffy just a bit more refined!} I placed the tarnished salt and pepper shakers on the table and he wanted to shine them up. I love them the way they are! I have a mix of new plates and a set my grandma gave me. The pattern is so dainty and pretty! At this table I have all different chairs and a wicker settee. It feels more cozy and inviting to me to mix everything up! Of course adding pillows helps!
For the centerpiece I added a green moss grapevine wreath and added faux eggs around the center. I filled a white, shabby vase with pink tulips. Two adorable vintage looking velour chicks are sitting on top of the wreath.
This is the whole table setting.
I love to add things to the back of chairs! Each chair has something different. It adds some whimsy to this table.
I made this wreath last year. Some of you may remember I had it for sale in my etsy shop. I loved it so much I kept it. The Happy Easter sign I bought.

This will take you to the end of my tour. I want to thank my two participants and everyone who has stopped by to take a look! I'm giving my two participants one of these lovely birds and some other goodies ! I hope you enjoyed the tour and please stop by the other tour operators.

I'll leave you with this last inspiring image from Martha Stewart Living April 2009. We all could use a little of Martha for inspiration! I love the branches and the hanging eggs as the centerpiece! This is something we all could do or something similar and it can come from your own backyard! You could make anything for the ornaments if it's not Easter time. An egg and a branch was placed on each plate to keep the theme. Perfect for an Easter setting!Have a great day and I'll look forward to tomorrow's tour !

Entertaining in a rustic way

This to me is a favorite tablescape! I love the cozy, warm environment of this outside setting! It's relaxed and comfortable! Everything is mix and match. It doesn't need to be perfect to be pretty! Of course this is set in a beautiful garden area but you can create your own space like this! As you see the flowers play a big role in dressing up any table! Also candles set the tone! A bottle of wine will really set the tone too! Lol! This photo is from Rebecca. It was taken from Country Living 2005. She says this..."entertaing is about spending time with family and friends"! This is so true. I told you all I was going to put up mr. linky for everyone to join the tour but it's just to difficult for me to do. My little helpers are not here to help me. I know I'm a sad case!! Anyways I will start posting your blogs on my post starting tomorrow for people to get ready and follow your tour! Let me know today and definately by tomorrow so I can post your blogs on Saturday too! Remember the tour doesn't start until Saturday!!!!Thank you all who will be joining me!I hope your inspired to go set your table!

Simple Elegance

Another table setting I just love! This one is a bit fancy yet has a casual feel. There is no table cloth just the natural, pretty wood table. Again fresh flowers are used as a centerpiece and unique candle sticks add a touch of whimsy and height to this table. The unique green bowl filled with pears adds a splash of color to this subtle color palette. This is just another style I love and wanted to share to give you more inspiration for the upcoming table setting tour! This photo came fromThe Home Companion 2002.Wishing you all an inspiring day!

Pretty Peonies

I just love this table setting! A pretty arrangement of peonies sets the tone. This table has fresh blooms all over it and each chair back in matching ribboned bustles. This look is definately frou frou but oh so pretty!I think flowers add such a beautiful touch to any table!

On the plates the theme is repeated.Gorgeous peony petals adorn the plate and stems of peony buds are tied in ribbon and placed at each setting! How can you not feel so pretty sitting at this table? Just another inspiration for you to think of. These photos were taken from The Home Companion 1999. I hope this might inspire more of you to jump on the table setting tour! You have plenty of time to create your own unique setting! Please see yesteday's post for more details.

Thanks!

It could be your own expression of a Spring/Easter setting.I'm not that computer savy and I'm not sure how to make a little button for everyone to share and add to their blog so if any one could help me with that it would be fabulous! I was thinking we could share our settings on April 4th.Let me know what you think and if I get a lot of responses...let's do it!It would give everyone different inspirations and ideas and I think it will be fun!Let me know.

This is so much fun!

First of all thank you for all the incouraging thoughts for me and my dinner dilemmas!Lori...that recipe sounds perfect! I'm making it tonight!! Last night I made a pork tenderloin { I always do those} they are easy.I made mashed potatoes.Okay..I do admit I make the best mashed potatoes! Here is the secret...I use yukon gold potatoes, lots of butter, milk and a little bit of white truffle oil.The white truffle oil turns the potatoes into a 5 star potato!{just a little bit}Then I beat it and keep adding milk to the cosistency I like! Then we had fresh green beans and bread of course and more wine!Lol!My daughter made brownies for desert! Okay enough about food. I would like to share these sweet ATC's I recieved yesterday for the Faerie Zine bunny swap!Remember awhile back I showed you mine I sent, well these are the one's I got. Too cute! The blue one is from Dianne from Dianthus Moon and the pastel one is from Suze from junquedrawerchicks.I just love them. This swap is my 1st one! I'm addicted now!I'm going to display them in my Easter collection display in my front foyer like I did for Valentine's.The picture of the flowers is just a preview of where I'll be putting them!Wishing you all a great day!P.s I still can't figure out how to write underneath photos...this is why the writing is cut off at the top.

I made already prepared beef tips in gravy over large egg noodles for dinner last night. We also had a salad and of course a French baugette and little wine too!Now tonight is again another story...Hmm?
