Happy Saturday!

Just waking up and already have visions of pancakes and waffles on my mind! I love them! I don't make a habit of eating them all the time but every once in awhile I'll make them on the weekend or even make them for dinner! The kids love it!I actually love chocolate chips in mine!My favotite were at a place I've been to called The Blackberry Farm in Tennesee. They were some kind of blueberry, oatmeal nut combination...oh and they were called griddle cakes! Remind me a bit like these.......

This photo is from Mary Engelbreit's cookbook! Cornmeal Pancakes with Cranberry Compote. Ooh La la!Well Just thought I'd tempt your tummies! I'm off for a jog before I start flipping the cakes! Have great day!

Mon Amour

Today is my 17th wedding Anniversary! Wow has time flown by!I remember the day we met so long ago.My husband is French and I met him on a cruise! Yes...It's a love boat story! So funny though...I didn't understand a word he said to me. I just would smile alot and and nod like I knew what he was saying when we first met.. It took awhile before I could understand him with his heavy accent. He still has a heavy accent and many people have a hard time figuring out what he's saying. Anyways It's a love story for sure and today marks our 17 years of marriage! He's a man I admire so much and I'm so lucky to share my life with him!Always and Forever!

Carte Postale

Today my son is coming home from a 2 week stay in France with his grandma! Wow! what an experience he has had.First time away from home for so long and by himself! We have missed him! Grandma has kept him busy taking him to all the sights you can see in Paris! He's been to Normandy in the north of France and to Montpellier in the south! We have recieved these postcards with small greetings written on them. I can't wait to hear all about his trip and to see the over 480 photos he says he took! His sister let him borrow her Flip video camera too! So we shall see some films too! Ooh La la.....What a trip I'm sure! For grandma too! I would like to Thank grandma for taking such good care of him and teaching him the language and culture of of France!!! As I've said before...Grandma doesn't speak English and my son doesn't speak French. It makes everything interesting!!!Anyways,we are anxiously awaiting his return and I bet he's ready to come home too! It's bitter sweet when you have to leave from vacation and family but always good to come home too!I'll keep you posted on his time spent in France.

For the love of the red, white & sacre bleu

Skimming through the pages of one of my old Home Companion magazines I found this page with a sweet cottage display.Adorable heart sachets, tiny oldiers and a sequin-embellished Eiffel Tower adorn these shelves edged in pom pom trim. This is a perfect setting and I'll tell you why! Last Sunday my young teenage son went to France by himself for 2 weeks to stay with grandma! This was the first time he has flown by himself and has been gone away for so long.He and grandma are together and she is showing him the sights around Paris,Normandy and he's going to be seeing a day of the Tour de France in Montpellier. {south of France} They are having a great time! I can't wait to hear all about it!!! Remember...grandma doesn't speak English and my son doesn't speak French! This will be an unbelievable experience!!Anyways my thoughts are in France and thinking about the 4th of July! Wishing you all a happy holiday!!
