Ranunculus is the name of these flowers

The name Ranunculus is Late Latin for "little frog," from rana "frog" and a diminutive ending. This probably refers to many species being found near water, like frogs. Yes...I looked up the definition! Funny name I think but I think they are my most favorite! I bought them at Trader Joe's on Friday and had to have a little photo shoot. I just love em! I haven't been around in awhile... just one of my blog away phases....sorry if you have missed me. I'm back today to spread the word Ranunculus! Enjoy!

  1. Ohhhh Tracy, ranunculus are my all time fav flowers! I bought the only one I could find at the grocery store the other day. It's too cold at my house outside for now so it sits on my kitchen counter and makes me smile every time I look at it. They are such a short season flower though, so you have to enjoy them while you can :)
    Your pink ones are gorgeous!
    Happy spring,

  2. Hi Tracy :) Yes, those are beautiful... that's a delicious pink and the pitcher is so sweet too! Ranunculus have a lush fullness kind of like english roses. I didn't know about the origin of the name... I love that kind of info. Thanks for sharing your lovely spring flowers!
