Talk about organization.....

Well...the other day when I said I was going to get organized I was inspired by my hubby! Every once and awhile he will go through the kids art drawer{ we keep paper, crayons, colored pencils, scissors} he will take out their pencils and sharpen each one! I think it's a tedious job and think it's pointless{ no punt on the word point...Ha ha!} Yet he thinks it's better for them and everyhing is neat and tidy! Well this time he took the pencil out of the box and put them in ordinary drinking glasses and displayed them on a dresser I have in the living room! Voila! It was a work of art on it's own! I just loved the look of it! Very atrsy, chic and neat and tidy!So to tell you the truth hubby is the reason I'm going through this organization phase!

Nothing like sharpening pencils and getting right to the point!Just thought I would share that!

  1. I was just catching up on you blog! So many wonderful posts and so many pretty things. I love your Stella necklace, so cute!

I am constantly trying to get organized, I just can't seem to get there though. Love the pencils in the cups. There is nothing like freshly sharpened pencils out on display. Like you said, they're almost like a piece of art.

    Have a lovely day~Bekah

  2. now that we see this very nice collection of pencils....let's see some sketches......

  3. Wow you should see my little cup of pencils and pens,LOL half of them arent sharpened, and the pens about 3 or 4 need pitched. In fact they sit right here new the computer Im going to do that right now,hah thanks for the blog to remind me.

  4. that was near the computer not new the computer lol.

  5. My pencil pot does not look as healthy as yours. What pretty selection of colours. It would inspire to draw if I had those on my desk. Always nice to add a splash of colour.

If not. come on over anyway and enjoy all the inspiration!! I noticed you are a creative soul. Did you get a chance to look at my art blog? It's link is on the right sidebar. In reference to pencils and what can be done with them, are you familiar with this pencil artist ?

She has done some amazing pencil sculptures...

  12. I'm way behind on the organizing department!!

  13. Haha! very "punny" post!

Your hubby is so cool-I could really use someone to come over here and sharpen all my pencils! lol They look so pretty and bouquet-like displayed in their glass "vases".

    Smiles, Karen

p.s. thanks so much for stopping by my blog and for the words of encouragement--I really appreciate it ♥♥♥

  14. I think you and I are riding the wave of something similar, cuz I have been hit by the mood to organize of late too. I guess I let too many things get out of hand this winter and now I just can't stand it anymore. I hit the bedroom today, going deep into the corners and sorting things out. Redid lamps, moved things around, really made things look nice. I would love to make my hubby's desk look as neat and sharp as those colored pencils, but if I layed a hand on his things here, he would have a fit. He would then claim that he could no longer find anything. :-) So much for getting ALL things organized in this house. :-) Debby
