I smile every day at this self portrait of my daughter! It's a favorite of mine! She did this when she was in 1st grade. She is in 4th grade now. Lately she's been asking me to put some things on etsy. I think I'll start on my blog. She will be pleased to see this!I love to frame my children's artwork!Enjoy!

Inspiration

It's a dreary cold and wet day today!I know we are all longing for the warmer temps,pretty flowers and the buzzing bees!At least I am.For inspiration I have one of my favorite photographs that I took in a Paris garden.I love wild flowers ! In this garden,there is a rusty,old tricycle.I just love to look at this for a pick me up and to see all the beautiful colors for inspiration.Enjoy this photo and know that warmer days are ahead!Happy Wednesday!

A cottage setting

Ahhh..... Spring it's almost here...Well in a couple of months at least. Not to bad. In the store I work at I got to create a cottage setting. I just love the robin's egg blue and creme colors together and add some eggs and nests a few birdhouses and you have that cozy cottage feel.If you give me the props and the accessories I can go nuts!

A Must See

My family and I watched this wonderful movie last night! Wow! It was really a great film! My kids even enjoyed it. They put it down by looking at the cover and thought it would be boring but it took their interest right away! In fact it's in german with english subtititles! So I must say to keep the kids watching with subtitles it's one to see!!!If you have not seen this film I recommend you go get it!

Sunday morning

The sun is just peeking out this morning and I'm having a cup of cafe' au lait. On the weekends and especially on Sunday morning I think of France as I'm drinking my coffee . I wish I could go to a Cafe' and sit and people watch while drinking my coffee and having a croissant!I looked back at my photos from our trip a couple years ago and would like to share a favorite place of mine.It's Honfleur.It's a city on the coast of Normandy.

Flower Power

I got a chuckle at looking at this photograph that was on the back page of Santa Barbara magazine.This is Santa Barbaran Ruth Coupon watering her prized pair of flowering agaves!What a photograph!I love how she was dressed as she is watering that plant. Just thought I would share and inspire all you green thumbs out there!

Chaperone

I was lucky today! This was my first field trip of the year and I got to chaperone in my daughter's class. I don't always volunteer to be one and usually your name gets pulled out of a hat to be a chaperone{ because many parents want to chaperone}. Well my name got pulled out of the hat and I got to go with my daughter and her class to the High Museum of Art!It was a fantastic field trip and I wished we could have stayed longer!I will definately be going back and bringing the whole family with me!

President Obama

Today marks the beginning of a promising and hopeful change for the better for our country!With the help of President Obama there will be a change! "Yes We Can"! What a historical day it was!

Comfort Food

Mmmmm..... Nothing beats it! Tonight's menu is going to be meatloaf and mashed potatoes. On a cold winter night it's the perfect meal.It's a family favorite and a simple dish to make. A yummy delight that's not too fancy.We will sit around our table and fill our bellies!To top it off a little apple crumb cobbler will be the dessert. We are not cutting calories this evening.We are just eating one of our favorite meals and enjoying every bite!

Where does the time go?

Today I was looking at family photos and how much my children have changed.Time has flown right before my eyes! It's amazing to me how quickly the days go by as we age. Some how we all need to take the time and enjoy today before the time takes it away!

Sweet Promises

I think I found a wonderful bite of heaven! They are so yummy!They are called....Silky Smooth Dark Chocolate Promises. Oooh.... I bought them because I'm trying to cut down on my sweets and thought I would reward myself one of these every night after dinner or in the evening{when it's my weakness time}Well-I tried one and love them and there was a sweet surprise note in the foil.Be thankful for todays' gifts! I recommend getting some. They will brighten your day or someone you give one too!

Brrrr.....It was cold today!!!

Today reached a high of 35 degrees. I'm originally from upstate N.Y. I grew up with blizzards!I have not lived there for over 25 years . So I guess my blood has thinned out and can't take the cold!Tomorrow it's suppose to be 17 degrees and windy. The coldest it's been in 6 years here! But today I took my faithful camera out into the cold and found a sign of spring!Yay! These are some of my sprouting daffodils.

Oh Happy Day

Today is Monday.....I know. It was a pretty good day for me. Even though I had a Dentist Appt. I absolutely hate the Dentist. It was just a cleaning so it was not that bad. It was a pretty day today and pretty stress free. My day off from work too. Anyways I posted these tags today....I think they are happy!
