Bee Still.......

Some images I captured of buzzing bees on my lavender. My lavender actually looks good! It came back and is thriving! Some of the plants have parts that are dead though and I'm not sure what to do about it. Do I cut the bad part out? I'm so afraid the whole plant will actually die. I know I need to cut the stalks back after they have bloomed but if you know what to do about the bad dead let me know. My new puppy Stanley just loves going to these plants and watching all of the bees on it! Oh what fun! Have a fabulous weekend!

Bringing a little sunshine into the home

It's been raining all day yesterday and looks like today and tomorrow too. I couldn't stop myself from buying one of my absolute favorite flowers to bring some cheerful sunshine in to the home! I just love sunflowers! Every kind of them. Those big teddy bear ones are beautiful and all the different types. I put them in my little pitcher with some lavender.(actually from my yard) Can you imagine that??? This arrangement sits in my front foyer as you walk in the door. I love them especially in the fall with orange/red berries and wheat like stalks. Such a great flower! Anyways....I hope everyone has a bright and happy day!

I Just Love Lavender

The tiny fragrant puple flowers that shoot out from dark green spikes. They are a mound of gray foliage and are so fragrant and pretty! I have seen fields of them in the south of France and it is a sight to see! The picture above is a watercolor drawing I did years ago inspired by my travels. Again I've tried my luck at growing this flower but I usually don't have luck keeping it alive. It's my brown thumb! Lol! Well last Spring I bought about 7 plants.

Here is one of my growing mounds and I can't wait to see some shoots coming out soon!

Here is my field of lavender! I really hope they do well this summer! My climate is very hot and dry in the summer ... so we shall see!!! I love to cut bouquets of them and put them in vases all around! It's definately one of my favorites! How about any of you??? Any luck with Lavender?Let me know if you have any secrets for keeping them healthy. Thanks! Have a great rest of the day!
